2023 Show and Tell Committee

The Low-dB Lounge offers a variety of Gamemaster-Led and self-led games such as ICSLAND and Disasterville, general board games, an Ideation corner for those wanting to create and discuss new ideas, and is ENAB-beverage only.
*Low-dB is “low decibel” also known as a quiet space for reflections and connections.

2023 Skills Competition

The 2023 CERT Skills Competition is where CERT members test their CERT knowledge and skills. It is a timed competition with ten (10) stations. Completing one 10-station evolution takes approximately 3.5 hours. We are conducting a total of five rotations over three days. During each evolution, teams must complete the tasks at each station using the skills and expertise gained in their CERT training, activations, and exercises.
Evaluators will be on hand to judge the use of CERT Forms, organization, and technical skills.  Additionally, this CERT exercise will also be participating in the new FEMA Task Book sign-off program. If you are trying to get your resource typing complete, our evaluators will be able to get your Type III sign offs completed during the session.  Below is a table showing the session schedule:

A few more details:
  • This exercise is FREE to both participants of the conference and any California CERT members that wish to participate.
  • We encourage people to come in groups of 5-12. However, smaller groups or individuals will be assigned to teams.
  • Lunch is provided each day from 12:00pm - 12:45pm. Thank you to Cal OES for providing the boxed lunches.
  • Awards will be given to outstanding participants and groups
